Grief. Writing - not writing. Family: husbands and wives, mothers and daughters, being a parent. Secrets. There's a lot this book is about, and, at the same time, it seems like it's not really about anything. I liked it a lot: any book that has more than three post-it notes in it has got something to recommend it, in my opinion, but it's hard to categorize and even harder to recommend. It's different, in that there's not a THIS IS THE PLOT! type story, but there's a familiarity to the themes and the people (even when/especially when they're unlikable) that I really enjoyed.
